If you’ve been following this blog for awhile you know how much I enjoy The Heavy Eyes. Well here’s cool bunch of tunes in the same vain as The Heavy Eyes. The band comes all the way fro New Zealand. They are Von Thundersvolt.
These instrumental scientists have crafted a platter of heavy instrumental psych-rock. Soaring guitar solos, melodic groove, dynamic arrangements, these guys hit it all with unmatched talent and orchestral sensibility.Formed on an icy day in 2009, the band developed an instant chemistry through a common love for heaviosity.
enskye is a post-metal/sludge band from the Hudson Valley in New York state. The band was formed in 2011 by guitarist Dan Pizappi and bassist Cameron Burkhart. They soon added drummer Phil Motl and former Disembodied vocalist Aaron Weseman. The group spent the next year writing and recording the material which is now available on their first album, “Eosphorus/Quintessence,” a concept album based loosely around the 5 classical elements and John Milton’s “Paradise Lost.”
Here’s a short EP by a stoner metal band from the East Coast called Black Bear. Their sound is as aggressive as an actual black bear.
