“Brewed in a thunder storm, and given the wisdom of the ancients who advised these 2 men and 2 ladies to create epic Space Rock”

If you’ve been following this blog for awhile you know how much I enjoy The Heavy Eyes. Well here’s  cool bunch of tunes in the same vain as The Heavy Eyes. The band comes all the way fro New Zealand. They are Von Thundersvolt.

This next band was featured on Heavy Planet about a month ago. The band is called Nightosaur. They play a pretty wicked set of heavy stoner rock that borders on doom and sludge at times.

This next band, Ironbird, was also featured at Heavy Planet recently.”Heartfelt, lowdown-rocking juggernaut from Cardiff!
Ironbird delivers thunderous tales of assassins, curses and false messiahs.”

These instrumental scientists have crafted a platter of heavy instrumental psych-rock. Soaring guitar solos, melodic groove, dynamic arrangements, these guys hit it all with unmatched talent and orchestral sensibility.Formed on an icy day in 2009, the band developed an instant chemistry through a common love for heaviosity.

Stomping Grounds is fronted by brother guitarists, Antonio and Lorenzo Anzaldua, who’s playing styles are soulful, raw  and powerful. The rhythm section, Matt Howard and Judd DiSalvo, back the band in an amazing way with groove and  funk. Alex Abreu joins Stomping Grounds to put the icing on the cake. He is one of the two lead singers of the band and  an addition to the overall sound of the band. The music is a mixture of the soul of blues and the rawness of rock. We try  to combine both in an effort to make something that has some true feel but also something very connectable. We are  inspired by groups and artists such as Gary Clark Jr., Soulive, Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Black Keys and of course classic artists like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and Bill Withers.

enskye is a post-metal/sludge band from the Hudson Valley in New York state. The band was formed in 2011 by guitarist Dan Pizappi and bassist Cameron Burkhart. They soon added drummer Phil Motl and former Disembodied vocalist Aaron Weseman. The group spent the next year writing and recording the material which is now available on their first album, “Eosphorus/Quintessence,” a concept album based loosely around the 5 classical elements and John Milton’s “Paradise Lost.”

Here’s a short EP by a stoner metal band from the East Coast called Black Bear. Their sound is as aggressive as an actual black bear.

“Dog Moon Howl, a Glasgow/Edinburgh-based band playing music in the popular heavy-psych-stoner-alt.blues-rock style, was formed in late 2011.”This is a pretty impressive first release. Lots of potential here.

The Hibagọn is a two-souls creature of the swamp forests whose aim is to hunt and devour every kind of living being. This primitive instinct gives him the ability to absorb their senses and use them to create any kind of unheard deafening noise. Nothing can be done to stop his thirst for loud vibrations and deconstruction.

Disarmingly human and emotionally charged noise/garage rock from the heart of Brooklyn, New York, EndAnd have been gaining feverish word-of-mouth lately thanks to the release of the uncompromising “Adventures of Fi in Space.”
