Heaving Mass is Preparing to Release Their First Full-Length Album
Chicago, IL (September 18, 2012) – Heaving Mass is one step closer to releasing their debut full-length album. The self-titled “Heaving Mass” has been taking form since the band’s genesis in 2009. Over the past three years the Chicago based hardcore/doom/rock trio has been perfecting the songs for their first LP and finally decided the time is right to unleash their music on a global scale.
“Heaving Mass” was recorded and is currently being mixed at Wall2Wall Recording, in Chicago, by engineering extraordinaire Andrew Ragin (of Atlas Moth fame). The rhythm tracks were recorded on a Studer A820 2” 24 track machine and ran through a 60 Input Neve V51 Console with dynamics on every channel. The band chose to use an analog recording for “Heaving Mass” to achieve a fatter, richer sound that can’t be achieved with digital recording equipment. It took three months of scattered studio sessions for Heaving Mass to finish the recording process but the long hours and hard work were well worth the end result.
“Heaving Mass” should be ready for your ears in the next 6 -8 weeks. The release date depends on how much tweaking needs to be done before the tracks receive the band’s seal of approval before getting mastered. All of the latest information on Heaving Mass, from tour updates and photographs to tracks off their demo “Sea Chanty”, can be found on their facebook page.
