This next one was making the blog rounds recently and rightfully so, when something kicks as much ass as this, it’s to good to NOT share.”Psychedelic stoner trio from Tacoma. Outta wind. Sun Eater is a psychedelic stoner trio from Tacoma, WA. Comprised of three college students between the ages of 19 and 20, Sun Eater is bringing a fresh sound to the psych rock genre with an emphasis on heavy riffs, intense guitar solos and quality. Founded in the Fall of 2011 by Ben Block and Kirby Lochner, they soon picked up Daniel Salas on the drums and the band has been the same ever since. With diverse musical backgrounds between the three members, Sun Eater is sure to turn heads with a strong, new sound. Working hard in the basement for the past six months they are finally ready to release their first debut EP, recorded at the band’s home in Washington state. ”
Here’s a cool one. The band is You You Dark Forest. They play instrumental, ambient, and progressive rock. There’s a bit of psychedelic rock in it too. Think Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd for good measure. Their latest is You You Dark Forest Live
. Three tracks long but they’re massive. About 30 minutes all together. This is good “chill out” music.
Next is a band called Shock Absorber. They play southern stoner metal with obvious Black Label Society and Pantera influences. This is their Promo ’07 album.
“Stevens’ squally and blustery guitar is mirrored by the plaintiff vocal styles while bass lines rumble and throb. You’ve heard of post-punk and post-shoegaze – well now there’s post-quake and worth checking out.” – CheeseonToast.co.nzThis is some pretty cool and trippy psychedelic rock.
Wow. Here’s some kick ass heavy rock with tones of doom, sludge and stoner intertwined. Old Gods is the band. Heavy heavy shit!
