It’s funny how I came across this band. I “liked” them on Facebook thinking they were a different band. I can’t even remember what band I thought they were. I seen they made a post about their album The Invitation being on sale. I went to their Bandcamp site and was hooked instantly. It was probably the best 38 minutes I ever spent previewing an album. I bought one instantly. Ok, the sale price helped persuade my decision but I would’ve easily bought it at full price.
Since I’ve bought the album I’ve listened to it about 7 or 8 times. I’m not sure why I keep listneing to it. Is it because it’s a heavy hitter? Is it because it rocks all through form the first track “Leave Me Alone” to “The River?” I’m not sure but it’s probably safe to say all the above.
This four piece band from San Jose, California is a great band to introduce to your radio listening friends. They have that appeal to draw in that crowd but still keep their independent stoner sound. Singer Pete Sattari has a voice that is very similar to Travis Meeks (Days of The New). It really comes out in the opening track. That’s where the comparisons stop though. The entire album is heavy hitting and hard rocking. It doesn’t matter if you’re talking about “Halo,” “A Drug,” or “Somebody.” You can really get into the album on your dive somewhere, sitting around the house or if you’re having your friends over for some beers or whatnot.
Check out the band’s Bandcamp site to hear the album and get your two free tracks for download. While you’re there, make a purchase.
